Lead Steward
Seeking an experienced ecological horticulturist for the 2024 field season. Lead Stewards maintain company standards of quality, aesthetics and ecological best practices in Refugia’s award-winning Greenway Network of functional, resilient and immersive native habitat throughout PA, DE & NJ. The ideal candidate must be a hands-on motivated problem solver with 3+ years experience leading a team in professional landscape maintenance.
Passionate and knowledgeable about native plants and sustainable best practices, the candidate is a confident communicator with both clients and co-workers; ready to lead, delegate and prioritize tasks at a variety of Refugia’s Greenway Network habitat gardens.
Spring start date. Starting hourly $21-24/hr commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes healthcare/dental stipend, 401k, company holidays, paid time off, parental leave, Continuing Ed. stipend, discretionary bonus, Third Thursday education & field trips. P-T Bookkeeper / Office Administrator
Currently seeking quality bookkeeping and administrative support for our friendly, creative small business. The Bookkeeper & Office Administrator should be excited about developing systems, improving efficiencies and supporting multi-faceted processes across departments (Sales and Design, Installation, Construction and Stewardship). The ideal candidate is a proactive collaborator who also excels at working independently to maintain company standards, timeliness and attention to detail.
Must have minimum 4 years accounting experience & Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance and/or business administration; payroll processing proficiency and be an excellent collaborator who is adaptable to changing software, processes, and responsibilities, related to the needs of our rapidly growing design-build.
April start date. Compensation $30+/hr commensurate with experience. Part-time position 16-24 hours per week. Flexible schedule with some option to work remote. Must be available for in person hours as needed at our Narberth, PA HQ.

Summer Internship Program 2024
Refugia’s three month summer internship is a unique opportunity for those seeking to immerse themselves in real-world landscape design and stewardship with an award-winning, mission-driven firm. During this internship, candidates will experience multiple facets of ecological design-build, its methodology and best practices.
This is a field focused internship with regular opportunities to shadow the Design, Analysis, Nursery and Install teams. Plus involvement in company-wide field trips and educational team-building events.
Applications welcomed from BLA, BSLA, MLA, BS, BHort, MHort and those with an academic background in forestry, ecology, arboriculture related field.
Paid full-time 3 month internship. Flexible start and end dates. Housing not included.
